NEW POWER PLANTS FOR MARC CARS DUO

The GT SS cars owned by Marc Cars Australia and driven by Geoff Taunton and Steven Lacey competing this weekend in the Precision National Sports Sedans Series as part of the Shannon’s Speed Series at the Shell V Power Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend, South Australia have surprised many with their performance as soon as they rolled out of the truck this weekend.

Whilst Geoff & Steven are happy to take the accolades, it’s fair to say that the new power plants fitted to both cars for this weekend have had something to do with it.

The GT SS’s are now running Hi-Torque Performance built engines created on the Gold Coast at the Dalton’s Family workshop. It’s here that some of Australia’s toughest street car engines have been built over many years, along with engines for other motorsport teams and private racers. In fact, for the last four consecutive years Hi-Torque Performance has won the coveted Harrop Engineering Dealer Award.

As he stepped out of the green machine, an elated Geoff Taunton said, “having Kent Dalton and his team onboard with us at Marc Cars Australia has allowed us to develop a serious Sports Sedan to contend in the National series. We couldn’t be happier.”

Steven Lacey, fresh from a Round win last weekend in the NSW Sports Sedan Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park, said the upgrade was an amazing addition to what was already a great car at Round 1 of the Series in Tasmania. “Seems Geoff and the team at H-Torque have been out to the top paddock and rustled up another 100 ponies,” said Steve. This has given the car the lift it needed to run towards the pointer end of a very competitive field here at The Bends.

You can watch the progress of both cars over the weekend, with both Races 1 & 3 televised live on 7plus on Saturday at 10.45am and Sunday 10.05am.
