STEWART MAKES HER CARRERA CUP NORTH AMERICA DEBUT AT SEBRING

Ex-Velocity Magazine Media Driver, Madeline Stewart will be making her first start in Porsche Carrera Cup North America at the 2024 opening round at Sebring International Raceway this week. The promotion to Carrera Cup comes after securing 3rd place overall in the 2023 Porsche Sprint Challenge Series las year.  

Madeline will be looking for a strong to opening her Carrera Cup campaign. Last year she qualified on pole at Sebring, her first ever race in the USA, and secured the first of 12 podium finishes for the year.  

“I am under no illusions of how big the step will be up to Carrera Cup. There are a lot of very fast experienced drivers, but I am looking forward to the challenge,” said Madeline. 

“We had a somewhat challenging test last week where we struggled to optimise the set up on the car. I am confident that we found what we were looking for in the last session so have a good base to build on for the racing’. 

Madeline will again be racing with JDX Racing who, this year, will field a team of international drivers. The 2022 championship winning team has secured drivers from the UK, Canada, the USA and of course New Zealand.

“Every year we strive to assemble a strong group of drivers, and this year we have hit it out of the park. Each one of our drivers can stand on the podium, that much I am certain of – and I already know the chemistry under the tent is going to be incredible.” 

The Carrera Cup races will support the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring with the cars on track for practice on Wednesday followed by Qualifying and Race 1 on Thursday and Race 2 on Friday evening. The races will be streamed like on IMSA TV. 

Race 1, Thursday 4:45PM ET = 10:45AM Friday 15 Mar NZDT = 7:45AM Friday 15 Mar AET 

Race 2, Friday 7:10PM ET = 1:10PM Saturday 16 Mar NZDT = 10:10AM Saturday 16 Mar AET
