Australian rising star Christian Mansell is gearing up for the biggest race season of his blossoming career to date as he gets set to contest the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Campos Racing.

Following his impressive rise up the single-seater ladder through British F4, GB3 and EuroFormula Open, the New South Wales based racer will now compete full-time on the Formula 1 support package as he goes up against some of the brightest young racing talents in the world.

Alongside his title challenge in EuroFormula Open last year, Mansell also got his first taste of FIA Formula 3 when he contested two rounds with Charouz Racing System, producing impressive performances at Hungaroring and Spa-Francorchamps.

An exciting 2023 schedule will see the 18-year-old race outside of Europe and his homeland for the first time during the season opener in Bahrain, before visiting a number of elite circuits in Europe including Silverstone, Spa, Monza and Imola.

Undoubtedly one of the highlights of the season for Mansell will be when he races in front of his home crowd on the Australian F1 Grand Prix weekend in Melbourne (31 March-02 April), while another special moment will come as he races on the world-famous streets of Monaco for the first time (25-28 May).

Ahead of the opening rounds in Bahrain next week (03-05 March), Mansell got up to speed around the Sakhir International Circuit earlier this month during official championship testing (14-16 February). Encouraging pace and progress across the three days has filled him with confidence heading into the start of the season.

Mansell will race the #24 Campos Racing car this year with the continued support of loyal partners AJM Transport, Castrol, Vawdrey Trailers, VISA Global Logistics, Infinity Sports Management, IOR Petroleum, Locker 27 and AMSL Diabetes Australia.

Christian Mansell: “I’m really excited to be racing in FIA Formula 3 this season. It’s a big step forward for my career and I want to take full advantage of the opportunity. I’m heading in with no expectations or specific results targets, my focus is solely on developing and improving as much as possible as a driver.

“There’s lots to look forward to this year with a competitive grid and an exciting calendar, with a few circuits I’ve done well on before and some new ones to tackle. Melbourne and Monaco are the ones that stand out, they’re both going to be pretty special in their own right. It’s going to be a pretty hectic year and I can’t wait to get started.”

Each FIA Formula 3 Championship weekend will start with a 45-minute free practice session and a 30-minute qualifying session on the Friday, before the Sprint and Feature Races on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Every race this season is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports Australia and Sky Sports F1 in the UK.
